Voucher sites – behave yourselves next year!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

This is old news, but relevant to what I’m doing, Azam published an article on the IAB’s new best practice guidelines for voucher code sites and deal sites that comes into effect on Jan 1st 2009. It’ll supposedly help stem the tide of dubious voucher skanking that’s been going on.

It seems all the big networks are signing up which is promising, but I tend to be sceptical about guidelines, as most people would view them as such and still continue to hide codes or mislead consumers to deals and offers that were nothing to do with the voucher link.

We’ll have to see whether the landscape changes, one thing’s for sure it’s an interesting and yet questionable time for me to think about breaking into the voucher code market, but the way I see it there’s still room for another and I have a few ideas in mind, what’s the worst that could happen?

Surprise!!

Yup, another post, almost what.. 7 weeks after my first post about how little I do. Well, I’ve spent the best part of the last 3 weeks getting Christmas sorted and out of the way, so now I can concentrate on getting some real work done.

I’m also guilty of spending too much time reading other people’s blogs, but that’s only because there’s some interesting stuff to read.

I’ve realised that I spend too much time obsessing over simple things, which delays my projects and puts me off completing them, but, it’s the turn of a new year and as usual I’ll set myself some unrealistic goals like ‘lose weight’, ‘make money’, and ’stop wasting time!’…. we’ll see, eh? :)
